Medacs Healthcare is proud to be playing an integral part in delivering a new Functional Assessment Services contract on behalf of the UK Department for Work and Pensions. The contract will involve the delivery of more than 3.5 million health and disability assessments nationally over a period of 5 years.

Following several years of successfully supporting the previous Health Assessment Advisory Service, Medacs is now expanding service in our existing North England focus region supporting the regional prime provider of the new service.

Medacs Health Assessment Services has a very exciting new opportunity for a Clinical Auditor.

Join our team as an Auditor and become a vital member of our Clinical Quality Department. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that we adhere to our contractual quality requirements and deliver outcomes that meet the needs of our customers. As an Auditor you will conduct clinical audits of PIP assessment reports prepared by our Clinical Assessors. Through these audits you will identify areas that require rework and improvement, providing valuable feedback to enhance the quality of our assessments.

To excel in this role, you will be a fully qualified and registered occupational therapist, nurse, physiotherapist, or paramedic, and have at least 12 months post approval experience as a Clinical PIP Assessor. Your extensive knowledge of appropriate assessment criteria will enable you to effectively audit a wide range of reports covering a variety of health conditions, and then provide unambiguous feedback to support the ongoing development of our clinical assessors.

As a skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal abilities and a collaborative mindset, you should be able to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Being adaptable, flexible, and capable of meeting deadlines is crucial. A proactive individual, you should possess the skills to influence and align goals among diverse groups of people.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • A minimum of two years' post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic
  • Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, or other), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN
  • Currently hold DWP PIP Assessor approval with a minimum of 12 months post approval experience
  • A current, full driving license and access to a vehicle is desirable, although not essential due to the location of our assessment centres

Essential Experience:

  • A minimum of two years post registration experience
  • A minimum of 12 months post PIP Assessor approval experience
  • Demonstratable clinical quality and effectiveness
  • A working understanding of clinical governance

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a PIP Auditor
  • Experience of feedback, peer review, audit methodology and/or impartial review
  • Experience of identifying and highlighting innovative solutions to enhance training delivery and general best practice
  • In depth knowledge of physiological, pathological, social and cultural issues which underpin the PIP assessment criteria
