As part of the role, you'll be helping to plan the routes of the company's vehicles to ensure efficient and effective delivery of goods, handling any issues that may arise with a calm and intuitive approach. Key responsibilities as Transport Planner:
  • Plan and manage vehicle delivery routes for a team of drivers with efficiency.
  • Investigate and report accidents / incidents thoroughly, sharing information with relevant teams.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance and address defects to certify that all vehicles are roadworthy.
  • Ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to allow for smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Handle communication with customers with a professional but personable approach to keep relationships healthy.
  • Verify working hours of staff for weekly payroll.
Skills / qualities required: 
  • Experience working in a similar position with knowledge of LGV transport.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing changing priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency using IT systems and software.
  • Knowledge of driver hours and overseas regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse with customers and colleagues at all levels.
  • A team player mentality.
In return, the successful Transport Planner will receive a salary of £26,000 - £28,000 per annum, working on a four on four off shift pattern, with a mixture of day and night shifts.
