LeviCare are seeking enthusiastic, passionate, and committed Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our team in the York and surrounding areas. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

Patient Care and Clinical Practice 

As a Band 6 RMN within the Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT), your primary role is to provide high-quality, patient-centered care, focusing on risk and safety management and safeguarding adult patients of all ages. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Delivering care and interventions aimed at stabilizing mental health crises, ensuring patient safety and promoting recovery. 

  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that promote patient independence, dignity, privacy, and safety. 

  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, carers, and other health professionals to ensure holistic care is provided, including coordinating with other services within the Care Trust. 

Teamwork and Leadership 

  • Supporting and collaborating with allied health professionals in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of care and treatment. 

  • Supervising Senior Healthcare Support Workers and delegating tasks appropriately to ensure the smooth functioning of the team. 

Person Specification 

Qualifications 

  • Essential Criteria: 

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification. 

  • Evidence of continuing professional development in relevant areas. 

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Qualification in clinical supervision. 

  • Postgraduate education in psychological therapies. 

  • Teaching qualification or equivalent clinical teaching experience. 

Experience 

Essential Criteria: 

  • A minimum of two years post-qualification experience in mental health care. 

  • Experience working with patients in mental health crisis situations. 

  • Experience in multi-agency collaboration and working across service interfaces. 

  • Experience working within a multicultural framework. 

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Experience with older adult age-related illnesses and conditions. 

  • Experience in teaching or leading others in a clinical setting. 

Knowledge 

Essential Criteria: 

  • Strong understanding of evidence-based clinical interventions relevant to mental health crisis care. 

  • Completion of relevant specialist clinical courses or training. 

  • Familiarity with care and treatment models for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. 

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Knowledge of SystmOne PAS or equivalent patient management systems. 

Skills 

Essential Criteria: 

  • Ability to assess, formulate, and provide care to individuals in states of heightened distress. 

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey complex and sensitive information to patients, families, and professional colleagues. 

  • Proficiency in clinical risk assessment and contingency planning. 

  • Flexibility to meet the service needs, including mobility across the geographical area covered by the service. 

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Knowledge of brief psychological interventions or strategies for managing crisis situations.
