Staff Nurse (NIGHTS) - RMHN/LD/RGN Neurorehabilitation

  • Job Type: Full-time, 38.5 hours per week (7 x 12hr shifts every two weeks)

Join our team at the Neurological Centre York, a purpose-built 40-bed state-of-the-art independent hospital. We are seeking dedicated night shift nurses who are passionate about providing high-quality neuropsychiatric and neurobehavioral assessment and rehabilitation for people following an acquired brain injury, along with additional mental health and physical conditions.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Work in partnership with people living with an acquired brain injury to significantly enhance their lives through tailored care and support.
  • Deliver high-quality personalised care as part of an interdisciplinary team where every contribution is valued.
  • Act as a positive role model, working collaboratively within the team.
  • Participate in innovative and creative evidence-based service improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council (RMNH, RNLD, RGN).
    • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible in approach to work.
    • Friendly and approachable manner with excellent people skills, showing care and empathy.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with acquired brain injury.
    • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act & Mental Capacity Act.
    • Recognised practice assessor/practice supervisor.
    • Understanding of risk assessment and management and its application within practice.
    • Good IT and keyboard skills with experience of using computerised record systems.
