HR Business Partner

This is a fabulous opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner working for a large organisation (charity) based in York on a two-year fixed term contract.

The HR Business Partners are key in ensuring their people are at the heart of all the work the organisation delivers, and, to strategically support the business to ensure the workforce is empowered, skilled and dedicated to achieving key priorities through a culture of continuous improvement.

The role of HR Business Partner involves the following:

  • You will be providing proactive and consultative HR support that facilitates the delivery of the people agenda , including organisational culture and colleague engagement, talent acquisition, reward and benefits, organisational change programmes and organisational performance.
  • Advising on employment law and best practice, coaching managers on day-to-day HR matters spanning the employee lifecycle. These include complex employee relations issues, attendance management, talent acquisition and performance management. This role will also play a key part in supporting the Head of People to deliver an effective, modern and innovative embedded people function.

This role requires a deep understanding of employment law, excellent project management skills, and the ability to provide expert advice and guidance on complex HR matters.

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Qualified to level 5 CIPD (minimum) and/or significant experience in a generalist HR role.
  • An understanding of the financial implications of people costs and how 'value’ is created through staffing resource.
  • Demonstrable understanding of, and commitment to equality, diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrable experience on TUPE and redundancy processes, an in-depth understanding of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) and its amendments. This includes knowledge of case law and statutory interpretations.
