Are you ready to take on a brand-new HR role, a new challenge with a vibrant Agriculture/Science business, head quartered in York. Hybrid role with 1- 2 days per week in the York head office and then working from home for the rest of the time.Rare opportunity to take up a role within the small HR Team of a dynamic, new innovative organisation which works at the forefront of science and innovation. The organisation's team of 150 currently, is growing and developing all the time. The HRBP will partner with senior managers to develop comprehensive, data based people plans and to provide support, advice and challenge around people issues.

The new HRBP will be able to build strong relationships and to develop a thorough understanding of each team’s work and how HR can support them to deliver and thrive.

Other responsibilities will include work on strategic HR projects; and developing and implementing new systems and processes for the business.

Main Duties

  • Work closely with senior managers.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process for their assigned areas area of the business
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and retention of our people
  • Maintain pay plan and benefits programme
  • Develop and support a learning and development strategy, assessing development and training needs, and apply and monitor learning and development programmes
  • Develop and monitor overall HR systems and procedures across the organisation
  • Nurture a positive, collaborative working environment
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Support employee relations
  • Provide management reports and HR metrics to support business decisions
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout

Candidate profile

  • Experienced HR Manager or HR Business Partner (HRBP)
  • A thorough understanding of HR policies, procedures and employment law.
  • CIPD Qualified - not essential but preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels and with all stakeholders.
  • Highly collaborative and inclusive approach with ability to manage conflicting agendas.
  • Highly organised able to effectively plan and prioritise.
  • The ability to meet multiple demands and maintain strong relationships.
  • Able to draft policies and procedures
  • Experienced in producing reports and HR metrics and using HR databases
  • Experienced in recruitment
  • Experienced in Learning & Development and CPD
  • Experienced in managing case work
  • Excellent administration and IT skills including full MS Office suite.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Willing to undertake occasional travel to other UK sites

Salary: £45-50k depending on experience, pension, life assurance, 35 days leave including BH, free parking.

Hybrid working: 1-2 days per week in York head office and WFH for remaining time.
