GSL Education is looking for Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis in York, North Yorkshire. Supply Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

• Working in Secondary Schools in York, providing 1:1 and small group basis support with young people with special educational needs.
• Providing academic support to Key Stage 3 and GCSE students, under the direction of class teachers.
• Supporting teaching and learning by delivering pre-planned learning activities on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Developing positive and supportive relationships with young people, being aware of their differing needs.
• Promoting high expectations of all pupils being committed to raising educational standards.

Supply Teaching Assistant Requirements:

• Have a Level 2 qualification or higher, related to childcare or health and social care.
• Have experience and knowledge of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, autism and ADHD.
• Be a compassionate, proactive, forward-thinking, dynamic and flexible individual.
• Be passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and have a genuine desire to help young people overcome their barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
