Graduate Process Engineer Job Overview

My client based in York are looking for a Graduate Process Engineer, they specialise in the design and manufacture of livestock transportation vehicles, water treatment equipment and premium agricultural products. They also undertake bespoke fabrication projects across a wide range of sectors and us 3D and 2D Autodesk products at their York offices for design work.

They work with aluminium; plastics; and numerous types of steel and stainless steels daily to fabricate

components & assemblies for the products and services we offer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

  • taking a front-line role in designing jigs and processes for use in their large 9-meter robotic welder; offline programming of the robot using AI enabled software; transitioning components from being manually welded parts to robotically welded
  • ensuring the manufacturing process is as efficient as possible; planning of robot time / scheduling of parts to be welded on the robot; being a major route of communication between the design team and the robot welder and operator, informing the design team of changes that could be implemented to make manufacturing of parts on the robot welder possible or smoother.

The role is fluid and will expand and adapt around you taking into account your skills, interests and areas where aptitude and flair is demonstrated.

Graduate Process Engineer Job Requirements

  • A hands-on approach in the office and in the workshop is essential for this roll with a willingness to be involved with all aspects of running the robot welder.
  • Some experience or education in using a 3D CAD package (preferably - but not limited to AutoCAD Inventor) is essential when applying for this role
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering would be ideal for this role
  • Shows a willingness to learn new skills
  • Wants ownership of their involvement in a project.

You will not be expected to have experience with all of the different materials, processes and areas of

design that they are involved in, but are looking for people that will take the chance to gain knowledge and experience when the opportunity arises.
