TXM are working with a train operating company to recruit an individual to manage the delivery of the Manufacture and Supply Agreement of a new fleet of vehicles. The role holder will be a key person in ensuring that the new fleet meets the requirements of all stakeholders and that the fleet is delivered in line with contracted milestones and on budget. The role will work with the Fleet Procurement Business Change Manager to help develop transition plans for the deployment of the new fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Play a full and active part in the Fleet Procurement Project team and the wider management team.
  • Lead engagement with the manufacturer on Unit design and Unit acceptance
  • Ensure the requirements are adequately addressed through the design review process
  • Engage with staff and customers throughout the design process, including attendance at mock-up reviews and First Article Inspections;
  • Ensure the manufacturer delivers a design that meets stakeholder requirements
  • Obtain sign-off for the design from stakeholders, including owners
  • Maintain a focus on project delivery timescales
  • Provide timely and accurate project reports
  • Support Fleet Procurement Programme Manager in developing business transition plans
  • Develop and implement the process for Unit Acceptance to ensure that requirements are met on each Unit
  • Provide assurance to Head of Fleet Procurement and Owners prior to signing of certificates of Acceptance.

Experience
  • Experience of working in a project management role
  • A track record of delivering change
  • Experience in delivering the whole or a part of complex, high value or high-profile projects on time and on budget
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, including an ability to achieve consensus amongst different stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in working to PRINCE2 project management principles
