What will I be doing?

In this role, you will oversee and manage our client's delivery of day-to-day estate management and value-added projects for a national property portfolio, which includes estates in Northumberland, Cheshire, Shropshire, and Wales. You will also support sustainability ambitions while driving additional revenue and capital growth. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the portfolio of rural, commercial, and residential properties.
  • Negotiating terms for new leases, lease renewals, and rent reviews.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and other property regulations.
  • Developing budget proposals for income, expenditure, and capital projects.
  • Managing budgets and overseeing quarterly reforecasting.
  • Preparing quarterly reports and attending client meetings.
  • Maintaining records for the property portfolio.
  • Identifying opportunities to generate additional revenue and capital.
  • Preparing investment approval documents and obtaining necessary consents.
  • Selecting consultants, overseeing project planning, and managing financial control.
  • Procuring contractors, negotiating contracts, and managing projects from inception to completion.
  • Developing 5-year forecasts for capital projects and supporting project tracking.

What do I need?

We are seeking candidates with a proven track record in managing a diverse property portfolio and experience in procurement, contract negotiation, and large-scale project management. Candidates should possess:

  • MRICS status, with a number of years PQE. FAAV would be an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and diplomatic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
  • Interest in rural affairs and understanding of political and public expectations of land and estates.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to innovate beyond current business models.
  • Strong numerical skills and experience in budgeting.
  • Chartered membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and good practices.
  • Proficiency in IT.
