Role OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Forensic Psychologist (RFP) to work within HMP - York. You will be part of a pioneering team committed to rehabilitation, providing expert psychological support to both prisoners and staff.
As an RFP, you will work directly with prisoners, staff, and stakeholders under the supervision of a Principal Psychologist to ensure the delivery of high-quality psychological services that align with professional standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions
- Lead and supervise trainee psychologists within the team
- Ensure psychological services adhere to HPC Standards of Proficiency and Ethics
- Support rehabilitation programs that aid prisoner resettlement
- Assist in parole assessments and report writing
- Develop and implement strategies for reducing reoffending rates
- Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Minimum two years of post-registration experience
- Supervisory experience, including overseeing Trainee and Assistant Psychologists
- Experience working within secure or custodial settings preferred
- Familiarity with the Parole Board process and psychological risk assessments
- RAPP registration (desirable)
