As Internal Sales / Transport Co-ordinator, you will assist in the attainment of monthly and annual sales targets for the branch, through identifying and maintaining customer relationships to maximise sales potential. You will also have day to day responsibility for decisions affecting the transport planning process.

Key responsibilities will include - effectively managing existing accounts to achieve maximum business, opening new accounts and ensuring they develop profitably, pro-actively contacting lapsed accounts and seeking potential new business. You will also be responsible for planning daily routes and loads in order that they run as efficiently as possible, and ensuring all vehicles and fork lift trucks are maintained and in safe working order in line with current legislations.

The role is based at the York branch, reporting to the Branch Manager.

The successful candidate will require:

  • The ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships;
  • Commercial awareness;
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills;
  • Strong I.T skills;
  • Experience of working in a busy operational environment, preferably with previous sector experience;
  • The ability to understand transport planning processes;
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety in the Workplace;
  • Good attention to detail.
