This is an exciting opportunity to work with an industry leader, shaping the product offering, optimising sourcing strategies, and driving category growth.

Role Overview:As Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies to drive profitability and performance. You will work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and the commercial team to ensure that the category delivers on its objectives, offering innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective products that meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute category strategies that align with business goals
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost savings
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to identify opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with the sales and marketing teams to drive category performance
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure product availability to meet demand

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Category Manager or in a similar commercial role within the building materials industry
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends
  • Experience managing product ranges and developing category strategies
  • Commercially astute with a strong understanding of pricing, margins, and profitability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
