Art Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a creative and engaging art curriculum that aligns with national standards and fosters a love of art.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage students of different abilities, inspiring curiosity and exploration in the visual arts.
  • Plan and conduct assessments to evaluate students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Create an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment that values each student’s artistic perspective and ideas.
  • Collaborate with the arts department and other faculty members to promote interdisciplinary projects and showcase student work within the school community.

Art Teacher Requirements:

  • PGCE in Secondary Art with QTS or other UK-recognised teaching qualification.
  • Recent experience teaching Art at the GCSE level (within the last two years).
  • Proven ability to inspire students and instill a love for the visual arts.
  • Strong knowledge of the art curriculum and effective classroom management skills.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one.
