Art Teacher Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a creative and engaging art curriculum that aligns with national standards and fosters a love of art.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to engage students of different abilities, inspiring curiosity and exploration in the visual arts.
- Plan and conduct assessments to evaluate students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Create an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment that values each student’s artistic perspective and ideas.
- Collaborate with the arts department and other faculty members to promote interdisciplinary projects and showcase student work within the school community.
Art Teacher Requirements:
- PGCE in Secondary Art with QTS or other UK-recognised teaching qualification.
- Recent experience teaching Art at the GCSE level (within the last two years).
- Proven ability to inspire students and instill a love for the visual arts.
- Strong knowledge of the art curriculum and effective classroom management skills.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one.
This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and the successful applicant must pass all safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
