Ref: 2324/232Hours: Can be either 0.8 (30 hours per week) or 1.0 (full time, 37 hours per week)Salary: Up to £40,109 per annum (this is the full time salary and is subject to experience and qualifications). You may also be eligible to claim a targeted retention incentive payment of up to £5,000*.

About the roleAre you teaching or working in the field of product design and/or design for manufacture and looking for a new opportunity? We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic individual who would relish the opportunity to share their knowledge and skills in the field of Design and Technology (DT) and Product Design with our post 16 students to teach, support and develop our next generation of designers and engineers.
This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire our future workforce, teaching and leading our A Level Design Technology curriculum, as well as the Design elements of our BTEC, T Level and HNC programmes. The successful candidate will bring their experience into the classroom and workshops, developing student skills in problem solving & design process, material selection & manufacture, costing, sustainability, prototyping, testing & evaluation to name but a few, as well as working as part of our T Level team teaching students how to create successful design & engineering protypes and solutions. General DT workshop skills and 2D / 3D CAD (for example AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks) are important. It would be an advantage to have experience of Computer Numerical Control & Manufacture (Laser/ Lathe/Mill), 3D printing/additive manufacture.
About the personYou may be an experienced tutor/teacher, or a newly qualified tutor/teacher, however we would also encourage applications from those working in design, manufacturing and/or engineering industry. Experience of leading projects/programmes would also be of benefit.
You should have a minimum of HND in a relevant Design/Engineering discipline, or/and relevant industry standard qualifications and experience. You will ideally possess a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards this with funding support from the College. Recent experience within a design /manufacturing / engineering industry would be a significant advantage.
Candidates may offer skills and experiences suitable for a proportion of role or the total 37 hours per week.
