We are looking for an experience Tug Master/Skipper/Captain to join our client's Tug to assist with moving a barge in line with its operations.
The Tug itself is a twin screw, fixed pitch vessel with a bollard pull of around 35t. It is not the most powerful Tug in the world, so would easily suit someone with any level of towing experience in a command position.
This position is stated as a long term position. What this means is, following a successful first trip, you will receive regular rotations for the first year and then transfer over to the client as a permanent employee.
If you are a Workboat skipper who is tired of constantly chasing the next contract, this job will provide stability and consistency.
The joining date is 27th November and the initial trip length is 6 weeks. Whilst this does mean you'll be away for Christmas, the client tries to roate this every year - so next year, you will likely have the period off.
The contract is 300 per day and rotation choices can be time for time (6 on/off) or time for half (6 on/ 3 off). Depending which rotation you choose, this will equal, roughly, 55k or 80k per year.
If you want to be considered, you need the following:
- Master 200gt CoC (or above)
- Barge (or similar) towing experience
- Right to work in UK.
Due to the joining date - this role will take priority. If you are available - apply today for immediate consideration.
