Days & Nights Available

Are you a dedicated, compassionate person looking for a rewarding career as a Support Worker? This isn't just a job; this is making a difference in people's lives every day.

Due to the individuals we support and the nature of the role, we are looking for female Support Workers only.

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us as a Support Worker in our Seventh Avenue service in the Tang Hall area of York. At Seventh Avenue we support individuals who have complex careneeds on a 24/7 basis.

Our Support Workers are enthusiastic about providing a high-quality and bespoke service to each of the individuals we support, always putting them at the heart of what we do. To ensure we can achieve this, our shift patterns can include days, evenings, nights and weekends, therefore we have various hours available.

About the role

At Seventh Avenue, our focus is on fulfilling the lives of the individuals we support, and we are looking for people who are fun, energetic, and want to make a difference. It's very much about including the individuals in all daily tasks, and empowering them, within their abilities. To encourage them to be who they are!

No two days are the same. This role encompasses a range of tasks dependent on the individual's needs including:

  • Food preparation

  • Light household tasks

  • Assistance with mobility & personal care

  • Monitoring, recording & administering medication

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of support provided

Whilst out in the community all individuals use wheelchairs, and some also have their own transport. Support Workers will also undergo specific medication training for the service, as we have individuals who have certain medical needs. This training will be provided for by a specialist team. To succeed in this position, you will need great communication and interpersonal skills so that you can form solid relationships. The individuals at Seventh Avenue have different methods of how they communicate their needs and wishes, therefore Support Workers will have patience with their approach.

No prior experience is needed, as we will give you all the tools you'll need to excel in this role. All you need to bring is a hardworking, compassionate nature and a positive can-do attitude.

Please be aware it’s a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in Regulated Activity (under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups Act 2006) to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with that particular group such as adults or children. Please note any successful job offer will be conditional based on pre employment checks such as DBS and referencing prior to a start date agreed. The Wilf Ward Family Trust has a clear commitment to safeguarding within all practices.
