Role & Client Overview:

Our client is a leading provider of education, training, and employability services, delivering high-quality programmes that support individuals in achieving their full potential. They are seeking a Careers, Information, Advice & Guidance (CIAG) Advisor to join their team at HMP Millsike, supporting prisoners from induction through to release by providing tailored career advice and employment preparation.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, helping individuals build a brighter future through employment, training, and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 Career Guidance: Support prisoners at key stages, from induction to release, offering tailored advice on career planning and job readiness.
  • Develop Digital Personal Learning Plans (DPLPs): Create and review personalised learning plans to support career aspirations and progression.
  • Deliver Job Readiness Sessions: Lead engaging group sessions on CV writing, interview skills, job applications, and disclosure letters, ensuring prisoners are fully prepared for employment.
  • Collaborate with Employment Hub Partners: Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide access to education, work experience, and training opportunities.
  • Support RoTL Placements: Assist the Prison Employment Lead in identifying and matching suitable Release on Temporary Licence (RoTL) placements and post-release job opportunities.

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

Essential:

  • Level 4 IAG qualification or above.
  • Experience in providing career guidance within criminal justice, education, or employability settings.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and organisational skills.
  • A strong commitment to rehabilitation and supporting individuals to achieve their potential.

Desirable:

  • AET Level 3 teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Knowledge of prison education, employment pathways, and offender rehabilitation.
