Responsibilities:

As a Principal Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in creating control software across leading PLC platforms such as Rockwell, and Beckhoff. You will lead project teams consisting of Senior Software and Software Engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software design based on customer and regulatory requirements. Your key responsibilities will include:

Creating and modifying PLC software, vision applications, robot applications, motion applications, and HMI/visualisation systemsManaging software project teams' progress against defined key milestonesDeveloping and maintaining software templates and librariesProviding technical expertise and acting as the point of contact for project-related topicsOverseeing software design code reviewsContributing to continuous improvement initiatives and providing data for project performance evaluationAssisting with commissioning on customer sites, both in the UK and overseasOffering technical support across departments, including simulations, estimating, and hardware/software selectionProviding aftersales support for existing machinery and installations

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge and experience in electrical or mechatronic engineering

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

Proficiency in the use of Rockwell programming platformsIntegration of robotics into automation solutions
