This role requires a strong understanding of customer needs, market positioning, and industry challenges. The Sales Engineer will build and maintain strong customer relationships, attend industry events, and contribute to business development efforts.Key Responsibilities:
- Meet sales and growth targets while delivering excellent service to both new and existing customers.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations to promote products and services.
- Work closely with existing clients to anticipate changing needs and provide expert advice on suitable machinery options.
- Build and maintain strong communication with customers through regular calls, meetings, and documented reports.
- Represent the company at exhibitions and conferences, acting professionally at all times.
- Negotiate and close orders in line with agreed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Respond to and manage customer queries on both technical and commercial levels.
- Collaborate with internal teams to achieve overall business success.
- Work within an established budget, ensuring careful financial planning and record-keeping.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in selling high-value equipment within a fast-paced, competitive environment.
- Understanding of the steel machining sector and its nuances.
- Ability to produce technical documents, including reports and quotations.
- Proficiency in MS Office software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to listen, respond, and provide solutions proactively.
- Ability to balance client needs and expectations with business objectives.
- Previous experience or knowledge of capital equipment is desirable.
