Team Manager

A unique opportunity has become available for an experienced Team Manager to join a consultative and bespoke travel organisation in York, to effectively manage a fundamental department and team of people to deliver the department and company objectives. This company takes great pride in its outstanding quality of service for their customers and as such, are an award-winning business and continuously striving for improvement.

This role involves managing a team of professionals responsible for arranging flights and rail travel, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and maintaining compliance with company travel policies. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Your role as Team Manager will involve:

  • Leading and motivating a team of Executives, fostering high performance, professional development, and team engagement.
  • Building and improving capability and motivation within the team through one to ones, coaching, feedback, development and empowerment.
  • Overseeing daily operations, including workflows, technology solutions, and maintaining positive team morale; ensuring smooth operational processes and a hassle-free customer journey.
  • Proactively handling travel disruptions, ensuring all customers reach their destinations while maintaining an excellent customer experience.
  • Participate in the out of hours team, providing essential support during non-standard working hours

The successful Team Manager for this role will have:

  • Proven experience of working in a high volume and fast paced customer focused environment with a strong emphasis on customer service.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines whilst exhibiting excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, complex schedules and prioritise effectively to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Supplier Management & Leadership skills.
