Associate Engineer- MEP

Overview:

FPM Group, a multi-disciplined engineering, architecture, and environmental science consulting firm established in 1968, has an exciting opportunity in our Bohemia, NY. Work closely with clients and project team members in the development of construction documents for institutional and private clientele for a wide array of challenging projects, from the first field visit through the successful completion of construction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the detailed design of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or low-voltage electrical systems in commercial and institutional buildings
  • Perform field inspections of existing buildings to obtain existing condition take-offs needed for design and detailing work.
  • Work with clients and other project stakeholders to determine and coordinate overall system requirements.
  • Construction administration services submittal and shop drawing reviews, review and respond to RFI, schedule coordination, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

N/A

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of 3- 5-years of broad-based design experience as an engineer within a consulting environment
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
  • Demonstrated ability as a problem solver.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong AutoCAD skills
  • Competency with MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Experience with online project management platforms such as BlueBeam, ProCore, and SubmittalExchange
  • Direct experience in systems installation or with a contractor is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer licensure is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

NYS Professional Engineer Registration is preferred.

Pay Range

90-130K plus with Benefits: FPM Group offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off,
medical, dental and vision insurance packages and 401(k).
