About The Position
We are seeking a licensed Family Practice Nurse Practitioner to fill a critical locum tenens position at a Multi-Specialty Clinic in Alaska. This 15-day assignment begins on 05/26/2025, with a work schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including some occasional call coverage shifts. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a variety of family medicine cases, including colds, coughs, flu symptoms, diabetes, hypertension, and substance abuse. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled Nurse Practitioner to provide family care in a unique rural setting, with potential for extension.Â

Responsibilities and Duties:Â
• Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all agesÂ
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, including cold, cough, flu, diabetes, and hypertensionÂ
• Manage substance abuse cases and provide appropriate interventionsÂ
• Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plansÂ
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab resultsÂ
• Prescribe medications and treatments as appropriateÂ
• Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease preventionÂ
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for patient careÂ
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records using CernerÂ
• Participate in on-call rotations, including 24-hour coverage and weekendsÂ
• Recognize and appropriately refer serious cases that require higher levels of care
Additional Information:Â
• Must be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in AlaskaÂ
• Experience in family practice or rural healthcare settings preferredÂ
• Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work independentlyÂ
• Flexibility to adapt to varying patient volumes and case complexityÂ
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills requiredÂ
• Willingness to work in a remote, rural environment
