The Trading Technology team is responsible for handling Equity/Options/Futures/Fixed Income order management and market data for the entire firm. We are looking for a Reliability Engineer to work in our dynamic and collegiate team. What you’ll do: Work closely with Schwab Trading development teams to improve scalability and service reliability. Real-Time troubleshooting of trading workflows in production environment to perform incident and problem management. Provide 24*7 Production Support for Trading Infrastructure ecosystem as a part of a global team and ensure low MTTD (time to detect) and MTTR (time to restore). Develop, modernize and improve monitoring for Trading infrastructure. Be part of Code Release review and support Trading software releases regularly. Develop, manage and run CI/CD pipelines to reduce friction for software delivery to production. Develop, automate and orchestrate tools, frameworks and instrumentation to reduce toil and increase reliability for applications. What you have Required Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience or relevant knowledge in Linux or Windows system administration Ability to code in one or more of programming languages such as .NET, PowerShell, Java, Python, Bash 2-3 years of experience or relevant knowledge of one or more of SQL, NoSQL databases 1-2 years of experience or relevant knowledge of IP networking including TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, IP routing, etc. Knowledge of distributed systems and messaging architectures Knowledge of Open-source tools Kafka, Splunk, Influx, Grafana, etc. Preferred Qualifications: Financial services industry experience Agile methodologies Strong customer orientation with an affinity to proactively own, communicate, and follow-through projects and issues Extreme sense of ownership to resolve problems in a distributed environment Gritty resolve to dig deeper into technical issues in a complex trading eco-system Well organized, with the ability to express precise and clear in written and verbal forms Strong team orientation and initiative to collaborate with a diverse team What’s in it for you At Schwab, we’re committed to empowering our employees’ personal and professional success.
