Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Mechanical Manufacturing Manager in Annapolis, Maryland to support the Undersea Systems organization. In Annapolis, our technical and business leaders develop and manufacture advanced underwater systems, sensors, and vehicles designed to excel in volatile and ever-changing undersea environments. The Mechanical Manufacturing Manager will oversee and manage all operational aspects of mechanical manufacturing and production. This role will manage Technicians responsible for machining, welding, painting and assembly. What You'll Get to Do: The Manager is responsible for delivering quality products on time and within customer cost targets for the Mechanical Manufacturing facilities, production and operations areas. In addition, this individual directs the work of employees, supports safety initiatives, and employee training/cross training. The individual monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, cost performance to budgets, identifies process problems and develops solutions. Manages and presents status on cost, schedule and performance for all projects within their area. Provides leadership direction of process development and implementation; as well as department compliance. Assesses issues and develops mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, and delivery goals. Utilize SAP and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in machining, welding, and mechanical manufacturing discipline; solid organizational skills; an ability to lead program teams to achieve program milestones and delivery objectives; program planning and scheduling skills; solid communication skills, as well as a strong problem solving mindset. Basic Qualifications: 9+ years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Test, Production or similar; or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Test, Production or similar; or a Master's Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience working in Manufacturing, Engineering, Test, Production or similar. 1+ year of Experience leading people and/or projects. U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience in Manufacturing. Experience in SAP and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. Experience in continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing. Program execution experience. Current DoD Secret clearance.
