Marine Electronics Technician Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Marine Electronics Technician (Marine ET) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic systems on marine vessels, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of maritime equipment.
Marine Electronics Technician Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electronic systems, including: Radar, VHF and MF/HF radios, AIS (Automatic Identification System), Computer systems, Camera systems, GPS, 12VDC and 24VDC power systems
- Use multi-meters, amp meters, and meggers for testing and diagnostics.
- Terminate various types of electronic equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of communication and navigation equipment.
- Adapt to new equipment and manufacturers as required.
- Manage assigned projects efficiently.
- Be available for on-call duties for a seven-day period.
- Occasionally travel for company assignments.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s safety and operational policies.
Marine Electronics Technician Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be capable of acquiring a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DWI convictions).
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and a drug and alcohol test.
- Previous experience in the electronic service industry.
- Demonstrated professionalism when interacting with employees, management, and customers.
- Basic mechanical skills.
