The CFT supports the operation and maintenance of critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, focusing on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
- Help build a skilled CFT team to ensure 100% availability and risk minimization.
- Monitor and manage power, cooling capacity, and environmental conditions in data halls.
- Work rotating shifts to support 24x7 operations, including on-call emergency response.
- Resolve electrical, mechanical, and fire protection system issues, communicating updates to management and clients.
- Coordinate construction, commissioning, and transition to sustainable operations.
- Review maintenance results and ensure actionable follow-ups.
- Oversee accuracy and usage of the CMMS for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
- Enforce SLAs, change controls, and operational standards.
- Schedule and oversee work by contractors and vendors.
- Manage client relationships and provide strategic solutions to facility challenges.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist in budgeting, resource planning, and cost estimation.
- Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Critical Facilities Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 3-5 years of mission-critical experience required.
- 1+ years managing non-exempt, shift-based employees.
- Knowledge of colocation data centers preferred.
- Familiarity with technical schools or military operations a plus.

- Strong understanding of budgets, resource planning, and financial analysis.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Expertise in electrical, mechanical, and technical facilities systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, service catalogs, and SLAs.
- Transparent and service-oriented, with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and operate within varied physical environments.
- Capacity for occasional heavy lifting and maintaining physical mobility in demanding situations.
