Job Summary:

Has administrative responsibility, authority and accountability for the development, implementation and maintenance of patient care services within Ambulatory Care Services. Possesses the advanced knowledge, skill and competency to direct patient care for all services in this area of responsibility and functions collaboratively in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating these services. Promotes a work environment where employees are empowered to collaborate, negotiate, and participate in successfully performing work activities, problem-solving, and service improvement.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Quality/Safety - Exhibit administrative responsibility, authority and accountability for the development, implementation and maintenance of patient care services within Ambulatory Care Services; Direct patient care for all services in this area of responsibility and functions collectively in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating services; promotes quality outcomes in services provided for customers and families.

Patient/Customer/Associate Engagement - Provides leadership for the ongoing customer service initiative; promotes a work environment where employees are empowered to collaborate, negotiate, and participate in successfully performing work activities, problem-solving, and service improvement.

Organizational Stewardship - Actively participates in departmental and hospital-wide activities through membership on committees and special teams. Supports and actively promotes organizational initiatives.

Teamwork/Collaboration - Demonstrates leadership and flexibility and promotes collaboration and teamwork within Ambulatory Care Services and with other departments in the organization; Creates an open climate that fosters and supports cooperative efforts, collaboration and teamwork; Develops and maintains strong and effective relationships with the nursing leaders throughout the organization; Works effectively with Health System nursing leadership.

Required Minimum Education:

  • Masters in Nursing or Bachelors in Nursing with a Masters in Business Administration/Management or Health Administration is required.


Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

  • Basic Life Support
  • Registered Nurse - Georgia or Compact



Required Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years experience in nursing is required.
  • Minimum 4 years in a nursing leadership position is required.
