As a Performance Architect, you will take a lead role in analyzing and optimizing performance strategies for cutting-edge PC products. The Architecture team thrives on innovation, enjoying broad design freedoms to integrate the latest and most exciting technologies into Dell’s award-winning products.

The ideal team member will have the acumen to handle both complex and ambiguous situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously – mixing long term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. The right individual will be self-motivated, a strong collaborator, able to think creatively and to work with others to find solutions, drive execution, and focus on results.  We are looking for a candidate that wants to create exciting designs, share knowledge across the technology community, and be proud of their industry leading products. 

You will:

• The primary responsibilities of this position are to establish system performance requirements, optimize the product to meet those requirements, and validate that the product meets those requirements. This involves working with internal development teams and external suppliers and development partners to develop innovative solutions for PCs,using leading-edge performance analysis tools, software optimization techniques, and benchmarking processes.

• The Performance Architect will also be responsible for driving others, including external suppliers and development partners, to deliver robust performance solutions. 

• BS in Computer Engineering or similar field with 7-10+ years of experience. 

• Extensive knowledge of system and x86 processor architecture. 

• Strong understanding of balancing power, thermals, and acoustics to optimizesystem performance and the user experience. 

• Proven track recordof evaluating the performance impact of newhardware, firmware, and/or software features and providing guidance on trade-offs. 

• Experience working with major silicon vendors and leveraging their latest technologies. 

Desirable Requirements 

• Graduate degree is a plus 

• Experience with defining and implementing policies into ML algorithms for dynamic system performance optimization. 

Compensation

Dell is committed to Fair and Equitable compensation practices. The Salary Range for this role in Austin, Texas is $187,000 to $242,000.
