Software Architect - Embedded Engineering, Applied Data Science

What you’ll achieve
As a Software Engineering Architect with an Embedded and Applied Data Science focus on the CSG CTO Advanced Architectures team, you’ll gain experience at the Senior Director level with strong embedded engineering and data science skills and have the opportunity to develop and deliver enterprise-grade Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions across the client devices portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with other technologists, architects, experienced design engineers, product marketing, and software engineers to train and deploy AI-enabled solutions for millions of end users and internal stakeholders. 

You will:

  • Develop a unified AI/ML strategy applicable across the client solutions product portfolio, leveraging a strong background in client devices, ecosystems, and product delivery
  • Communicate and drive strategy across business units and organizations, synthesize activity, and identify points of leverage
  • Directs organization activities, including teams of HW & SW engineers, data scientists, and data engineers, for delivery of complex AI/ML solutions across the client portfolio
  • Work with Executives across Business Units to synthesize business questions and translate them into strategy as well as work with external partners to evaluate and incorporate next-generation AI technologies into the client solutions portfolio
  • Deliver AI-enabled concepts by working with marketing and engineering teams to define, plan, and develop a product roadmap as well as substantially contribute to AI/ML industry trends and developments in academia with a client lens, through innovative thinking, speaking engagements, and contributing participation

Essential Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in AI/ML, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other Engineering & Scientific fields with a significant quantitative component; Bachelors + 15 years, MS + 11 years, Ph.D. + 8 years minimum
  • Expert in development within the Microsoft (MS) Windows ecosystem including with client SDKs including MS DirectML, WinML, and MS Graph as well as in embedded device development in real-time operating systems (RTOS) with an awareness of nuances and caveats
  • Expert-level knowledge of AI / ML algorithms using C, C++, and Microsoft C#/.NET to deliver implementations as well as expert-level knowledge of AI/ML optimization techniques for delivering models and algorithms into resource-constrained environments
  • Expert-level experience with libraries and runtimes such as PyTorch, Tensor Flow, TensorRT, and nuances of their application in end-user ecosystems
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to explain difficult analytical methods to technical and business stakeholders, including the C-suite including public speaking at corporate events, conventions, and partner engagements


Desirable Requirements:

  • Expertise in communicating AI outcomes using presentation, visualization, and various dashboard technologies as well as experience working across large organizations, and guiding teams across multiple programs and working with large partners such has hyperscale companies and large silicon vendors
  • Expert-level knowledge in one core Artificial Intelligence domain such as Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Reinforcement Learning, L/SLMs, Diffusion Models as well as expertise in multiple general-purpose programming languages such as C++, Java, C# and in building solutions on Azure Cloud, GCP, or other backend solution providers
