What you’ll achieve
Dell is looking for a Technical Staff Electrical Engineer to join the Emerging Platforms Architecture team to create new exciting PC products. The team thrives on innovation and operates with a wide latitude of design freedom to implement the latest technologies into Dell's award-winning products. The team works across product lines to provide class-leading mobile PC offerings for both commercial and consumer customers. This team has a passion for innovation, plays of each other’s strengths, exudes camaraderie, and operates at the leading edge of the technology frontier. Join us and do some of the best work of your career. You will:
- Architect and influence future mobile product design by providing technical expertise and engineering leadership; strong focus on the front-end design cycle
- Interface with Marketing and internal teams to define product requirements and generate concepts that meet our customer needs
- Engage and direct design enablement with external development partners (ODMs). Duties include: create/drive solutions, identify problems, and ensure design completion to specifications
- Collaborate with technology providers to identify and scope new technology innovation opportunities
- Generate Intellectual Property to protect innovations

Essential Requirements
- Proficiency to create and analyze design specifications, create system block diagrams, and product documentation
- Understanding of analog and digital circuit theory and principles
- Experience with ECAD tools to create basic schematics, PCB layout floor planning, and assess production schematic proposals
- Good communication and soft skills, both verbal and written
- Aptitude to assess tradeoffs, such as cost, performance, quality, and schedule
Desirable Requirements
- Undergraduate degree and 10+ years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 7 years relevant experience
- Work experience in design and analysis of electronics enclosures. (PC, server, or equivalent product experience a plus)

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $216,750 - $280,500.
