Job Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of c-arm operation including but not limited to the ability to maneuver and operate the equipment safely and the ability to produce, document and store quality radiologic images. He / she shall strive to minimize patient wait time in the department and shall do his / her best to educate patients / families about procedures being performed. Demonstrates the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.

May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Clinical Nurse Manager and/or Director of Nursing, which include, but are not limited to facilitating efficient procedure room turnover time, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits and projects and training of ancillary personnel including, but not limited to, nurses, surgical technologists and other operating room personnel.

Candidate will possess outstanding multi-tasking abilities, communication, and teamwork as well as the ability to keep up in a fast-paced working environment. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

·       Arrives 30 minutes prior to scheduled procedure to ensure proper set up and readiness of equipment.

·       Operates equipment in accordance with State/Federal Regulatory laws

·       Follow ALARA principle for each case

·       Performs all radiographic procedures as written in Policy and Procedure Manual.

·       Upholds and practices within the policies and procedures of the facility.

·       Performs high quality radiology work.

·       Notifies Clinical Manager and/or Site Administrator of equipment/machine malfunction.

·       Adheres to Policies and Procedures as defined by Infection Control.

·       Demonstrates knowledge of filing and logging in of x-rays.

·       Demonstrates knowledge of reporting system of radiology findings to physician. Transfers necessary images to PACS system in timely manner.

·       Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team.

·       Maintain proper care and handling of lead aprons assuring all involved personnel wear appropriate lead and dosimeter in each case.

·       Uses Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.

·       Follows all IFU equipment and safety guidelines and is responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment.

·       Maintains complete and accurate documentation for all processes and activities as required.

·       Maintain required competencies.

·       Acts in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center.

·       Maintains patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy.

·       Follows the Center's professional conduct and dress code policy.

·       Collaborate effectively with other disciplines as appropriate.

·       Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects.

·       Participate in the performance appraisal process.

·       Use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.

·       Maintain required competencies.

·       Attend required meetings and educational sessions.

·       Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy of all appropriate information.

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996

Responsible for knowing the processes involved assuring the standards established by HIPAA, and ensuring they are followed including the practices and records relating to the use and disclosure of Protected Health Information. 

             Qualifications: 

·       Able to prepare reports and keep records.

·       Able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.

·       Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.

·       Familiar with medical terminology and departmental supply items.

·       Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology Program/School

·       Licensure/Certification/Registration: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( current certification or registry eligible/to be completed within 6 months of hire)

·       State Department of Health - applicable State License verifying authorization to operate ionizing equipment.

·       Basic Life Cardiac Support.

Education and Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in C-Arm and Portable x-rays in operating room setting

            Hours: varies; Full Time (30 to 40 hours per week); Monday – Friday during ASC operating hours

             Location: Primarily assigned to “home” ASC

             Travel: Required to travel to all Summit Ambulatory Surgical Centers within the general geographic location of defined “home” ASC. 

     Reporting Relationship

·       Directly to “home” ASC Clinical Leadership (Team Lead > Clinical Manager > Director of Nursing > RN Site Administrator)

Indirectly to Regional Clinical Director of Nursing
