The International Board Certified Lactation Consultant will possess the expert clinical practitioner skills and knowledge to provide competent comprehensive care, consulatationand education to postpartum patients and
maternal child health nursing staff.
Job Requirements:
1. Work requires a level of knowledge typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing and three years' experience as an RN in maternal child health nursing.
2. Work requires the analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
3. Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, and explain medical center policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors, and/or medical center employees. More sensitive situation may be referred to others as appropriate.
Qualifications and Education:
- RN license in Maryland or compact state
- CPR (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (Must obtain BSN in 4 years)
- Current IBCLC certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners is required
Salary Range: Minimum 39.94 per hour - Maximum 61.91 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
