The Johns Hopkins Hospital - Weinberg Intensive Care Unit is a 20-bed adult surgical intensive care unit. WICU has won the AACN Beacon Award and was recognized by the SCCM for the Family Centered Care Innovation Award. This unit is grounded in teamwork as well as Patient and Family Centered Care.

  • New graduate nurses will have a comprehensive five-month orientation and will also benefit from participating in competency based critical care core classes.
  • All New Graduate RNs will be automatically enrolled in our yearlong Nurse Residency Program to facilitate your successful transition into professional nursing practice.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • BSN/MSN strongly preferred.
  • Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
  • Completion of Clinical Rotation.
  • Completion of an Adult ICU practicum with a minimum of 120 hours of hands-on clinical experience (ED, PCU, and IMC are not considered equivalent experience).
  • Working as a Nursing Student in Adult ICU may be considered.
  • Tuition reimbursement - BSN/MSN matriculation required within one-year of hire and completion of degree within five-years of hire.
  • Active Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) or Compact State Registered Nursing license is required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required. AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
  • No RN work experience required.

Salary Range: Minimum 35.02 per hour - Maximum 52.69 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
