Department/Unit Summary

The recovery room or Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Raleigh General Hospital closely monitors and cares for patients immediately following surgery.  PACU nurses recovers patients following general, orthopedic, urologic, vascular, robotic, gynecologic, dental and spine surgeries. PACU is a specialty unit requiring critical care training. 

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
