LSF is looking for a talented ­­­­­­­­­­­­­House Parent who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.

This position is located on site in Belleview, FL.  Overnight and weekend hours required.  

Overnight shift hours: 4 pm - 9 am

Pay is $19 an hour, non negotiable

Purpose and Impact:

This is a direct service delivery position that provides supervision of teenage, female residential youth who are pregnant, parenting or at risk of sex trafficking.  The house parent ensures qualitative care, and a safe and secure environment through positive interactions and guidance provided to youth served in the program.  The full time role requires overnight hours.  

Essential Functions:

  • Provide a supportive environment for youth.
  • Provide daily security and up-keep of facility.
  • Assists and/or guides teen and babies with daily life skills such as dressing, bathing, cleaning, personal relationships, etc. 
  • Observes and monitors mother and child’s play activities and interactions.
  • Completes shift report after each shift with a staff email. Performs general administrative tasks, such as taking attendance, completing internal reports and paperwork, responding to and sending emails and making phone calls.
  • Performs household related activities such as dispensing medication, preparing and serving meals, grocery shopping, cleaning, etc.
  • Organizes and participates in recreational activities and outings, such as church, shopping and outside leisure events.
  • Helps children with schoolwork and projects when tutor is unavailable.
  • Participate in various in-service training sessions.
  • Attend staff meetings, as directed.
  • Assign and supervise chores.

Other Functions:

  • Ability and desire to work and live with teenage mothers and infants/toddlers as well as female residents in the foster care system. 
  • Ability and desire to work with female teens who are at risk of sex trafficking.
  • Willing to work overnight, holidays, and weekends to ensure appropriate 24/7 supervision and appropriate staffing ratios.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability and flexibility to work extended hours and be flexible with scheduling.
  • Valid state driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year experience working with youth/troubled youth in an organized/structured setting preferred. Training in Trauma-Based principles of care, de-escalation training, and/or child welfare programs a plus.

Skills:

  • Ability to establish effective relationships with clients, co-workers, and the general public.
  • Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Reports to House Coordinators and ultimately, the Residential Services Director.
  • Team player with co-workers and partners.
  • Ensures quality care for clients in a safe, secure environment. 
  • Adherence to license and quality assurance standards of state, federal and local.
  • Effective behavior management and supervision of residents during activities.
  • Adherence to all agency policies and procedures.
