Schedule: Part-time; Monday - Friday 2:10pm - 6:05pm
Start & End Date: 8/14/2024 - 6/5/2025
Location: Various School sites within the Berkeley Unified School District (working with students age TK/K)
Expected Hourly Rate:  $20/hour

We collaborate closely with schools to provide comprehensive programs infused with social-emotional learning (SEL). Our curriculum promotes physical, mental, and academic well-being and offers enriching activities. Going beyond classroom walls, Elevo fosters learning, movement, and growth for kids in grades K-8.

• Lead groups of kindergarten students through structured games based on the Elevo curriculum. 
• Engage students in PE games, enrichment lessons, and other activities. 
• Supporting kids’ behavioral management needs.
• Collaborate seamlessly with school administrators, teachers, and fellow coaches.
• Leading outdoor lessons designed to increase excitement about learning.
• Serve as a positive role model to the students to build kids’ self-esteem and emotional wellness.

• Have been successful working with Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten kids.
• Confidently manage groups of up to 20 students with minimal assistance.
• Can improvise, adapt, and take initiative when needed.
• Are approachable, empathetic, patient, and able to build trust with kids.
• Present yourself as a confident leader and a positive role model.
• Connect with students and foster positive learning experiences.
• Pay close attention to student needs and adjust activities accordingly.

• Ensure activities run smoothly and efficiently within allocated timeframes

• Must be eligible to work in the United States, complete and pass a Live-Scan background check, and TB screening.
• 1-2 years of working experience in education, coaching, child development, or other child-focused experiences strongly preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Willing to follow COVID-19 protocols outlined by the school.
• Have a minimum of 3 units of early childhood development courses completed OR a background with experience working with students at TK/K age level

• Ability to constantly move about to accomplish tasks or move from one place to another frequently.
• Sitting, standing, for long periods. 
• Occasional running and other strenuous physical activity. 
• Ability to move safely on irregular and or uneven terrain regularly.
