Overview: Suburban Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team. Our CVICU provides specialized care for patients with severe cardiovascular conditions, and we are looking for a motivated professional to contribute to our patient-centered approach.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CVICU.
  • Perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of attending physicians.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous enhancement of patient care standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in the electronic health record system.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Maryland.
  • Previous experience in a critical care setting, preferably in cardiovascular intensive care.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary Range: Minimum 57.99 per hour - Maximum 81.51 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
