What You Will Do:Â
Working closely with the CDE-R development team, support the ongoing development of semantic capabilities to facilitate CDE discovery by topic, disease area, or domain.Â
Features will likely include:Â
Automated or semi-automated assignment of concepts from a standard terminology system, such as MeSH or the UMLS, to CDEsÂ
Educating submitters on use of metadata, terminologies, and informationmodels in the context of the CDE-RÂ
Ensure that CDE-R policies, procedures, and functionality support user and stakeholder needs, especially the NIH CDE Governance CommitteeÂ
Create new content or update/maintain currentcontent, e.g., medical editing, including copy editing, for content in NLM biomedicalinformation resources and services. Â
Ensure all new content is accurate via anestablished internal and external review process, including user feedback.Â
Provide subject matter expertise in cataloging, and metadata management.Â
Develop and support themaintenance of NLM standards (including health data standards) and terminologiestools and services. Â
Supporting indexingactivities (e.g., using MeSH vocabulary terms by a subject matter expert or by anautomated tool), write abstracts/annotations of newsletters, technical reports, assessments, guidelines, books, journal articles, webinars, videos, podcasts, or other sources of literature for inclusion in NLM biomedical information resources and services.Â
Aligning CDEs with existing standards and terminologies, such as USCDI, LOINC, SNOMED CT, FHIR, etc.; monitoring standards updates to ensure that changes to terminology, value sets, and other standards are reflected in Repository content.Â

What You Will Need:Â
Minimum Education: PhD, MD, DO, or DVM degree. MS degree with four (4) additional years of experience may be substituted.
Minimum General Experience: Ten (10) years of related experience.
Provides expertise in specialized domains of knowledge.Â
