Job Summary
May work as the only IP in a hospital. The coordinator directs and manages the infection control program in the hospital. The designated person will be given the authority to implement and enforce the Surveillance, Prevention and Control Program policies, coordinate all infection ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of prevention and /or control activities and interventions.
Job Responsibilities
Manages the department and is responsible for surveillance activities; evaluates the effectiveness of the program; provides education to staff, patients and families and implements all facets of the IP program.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, lab or other healthcare related field.
Experience
Required: 3 years experience in patient care, lab tech or other health care related field.
Certifications
Required: CIC required within 2 years of job
