What You Will Do
Understand patients’ insurance benefits, including co-pays, deductibles, out of pocket costs, and covered services. Provide education and information about available assistance programs for the uninsured and/or under insured and verify if patients are eligible.
Serves as a bridge with the Medical Centers and billing departments
Screen patients for possible financial assistance programs.
Explains financial options and provides financial counseling to patients
Assists patients in developing a financial plan and assesses for financial disparities, completing applications for financial assistance (i.e., Medicaid/Medicaid Disability, County Health Plans,)
Help patients identify, apply and complete financial assistance application
Provides patient with a personalized treatment cost estimate
Referral to insurance brokers
Connect with the social worker, pharmacy, and medication assistance representative if patient needs help with the cost of care
Interviews patients to obtain accurate demographic and financial information from self-pay and high-risk patients
Assist patients with the completion of applications.
Explains financial options and provides financial counseling to patients
Serves as an internal resource for reimbursement questions
Facilitates processing of financial assistance/charity care applications
Communicates daily with coworkers, hospital and management regarding account progress and or issues.
Answer calls from a phone queue regarding patient account inquiries and financial assistance
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
What You Will Need:
High School graduate.
Familiarity with Medical Terminology.
1 year experience and knowledge of Federal, State, and County eligibility programs.

Previous eligibility experience
Ability to work Independently
Computer/typing knowledge.
