Sr. Hydrogeologist

Overview:

FPM is a full-service environmental and engineering consulting firm established on Long Island and is presently seeking a full-time senior level (15+ yrs. experience) Hydrogeologist/Geologist at its headquarters in Bohemia, NY.

The selected candidate will manage environmental investigation and remediation projects, prepare technical proposals and reports, conduct environmental research and analyses, supervising field investigations and managing staff. The candidate should be proactive in keeping up to date with changes in regulatory programs.

Position Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage environmental investigations and remediation projects.

Be able to manage multiple projects concurrently within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines.

Effectively organize, write and edit draft proposals, reports and other documents.

Participate in the identification and pursuit of new clients and markets.

Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments.

Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to environmental projects.

Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors and others.

Perform other duties as requested.

Education and/or Experience:

bachelors degree in Hydrogeology/Geology or related environmental field.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

NYS Professional Geologist

Excellent writing skills

Motivated to learn new sampling methods, use new equipment, and become proficient with computer software programs.

Excellent working knowledge with MS Office (primarily Excel and Word), Adobe and database software programs. Knowledge of GIS and AutoCAD a plus

Excellent communication, analytical, and field skills

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification a plus.

Security Clearance:

Must be U.S. Citizens for access approvals.

Work Environment:

The position will include a mix of in-office and field tasks.

Must be physically capable of performing job duties and be able to lift 50 lbs safely and effectively.

Must adhere to Drug/alcohol screening, a drivers license check and a background check when required.

Able to routinely travel to job sites throughout NYC, LI and Westchester County a valid drivers license and personal vehicle are required.

Wage:

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
