Objective / Purpose:

Work independently as a senior scientific consultant or as a project lead in early-stage, matrixed teams to identify and characterize new therapeutic targets in autoimmune or IBD disease research.Ā Ā 

  • Support early clinical candidate selection by designing in vitro and in vivo studies and executes or manages the execution of the preclinicalpharmacology studies that support clinical development.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Provide deep scientific expertise in immunologyactingas a subjectmatterexpert, contributing to assessments of potentialcollaborations with internal and external partners.Ā 

  • Overseesnovelscientific projects and maymanage the work of othersdirectly or in amatrixedstructure.Ā Ā

  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of immunology, autoimmune disease, cell therapy, primary cell isolation and functional analysis, gene editing, and the principles and experimental techniques needed for identifying targets and validating therapeutic candidates.Ā 

  • Acts as the recognized scientific resource on programsĀ 

  • Identifies, plans, and executesnovelscientific projects and maymanage the work of others a direct or matrixedstructure.Ā 

  • Independently plans assignments for a research work group or project, develops and validates new methods to support completion of complexassignmentswithin a project.Ā Ā 

  • Collaborates with others and acts as scientific resource for programs.Ā 

  • Independently develops solutions and strategies for target evaluation within own expertise and can solicitappropriate input from other disciplines.Ā Ā Ā Ā 

  • Participates in early clinical candidate selection and asset characterization in support of clinical trials.Ā 

  • Ensures the appropriate conduct of studies, leads the interpretation of study results, and prepares study reports suitable for internal or regulatory use.Ā 

  • Scientificallyassesses and recommends vendors andoutsourcesnonclinical studies to appropriate contractresearchorganizations.Ā

Education & Competencies (Technical and Behavioral):

EducationĀ 

  • PhD degree in ascientific discipline with 2+ years' experience orĀ 

  • MS with 8+ years' experience, orĀ Ā 

  • BS with 10+ years' experienceĀ Ā 

SkillsĀ 

  • Can design an experimental protocol, collect and interpret dataĀ 

  • Adeptatisolation and running in vitro assays with cell lines and primary human immune cells.Ā 

  • Experienced with multi-color flow cytometry of human and mouse immune cell subsetsĀ 

  • Familiar with operation of multi-plexedproteindetection systems (e.g. Luminex)Ā 

  • Familiar with standard molecular biology techniquesĀ

U.S. Base Salary Range:

133,000.00 - 209,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.ā€ÆThe actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.Ā 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
