About the role:

The Oncology Drug Discovery Unit (ODDU) is looking for a highly motivated Research Scientist within the Tumor Microenvironment (TME) Disruptor group, reporting into the TME Immunology Lab Head. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall deliverables of the ODDU primarily through in vitro experimental work, performing cell-based assays to advance our portfolio towards preclinical and clinical milestones. In addition to strong wet lab skills, this position requires scientific curiosity, enthusiasm for learning, and a highly collaborative mindset. 

How you will contribute:

  • Leverage expertise and the scientific literature to independently plan and execute experiments designed to elucidate mechanisms of tumor immunology.
  • Be able to comfortably lead troubleshooting efforts for complex assays.
  • Work with human and murine cells/tissues to perform assay development, model characterization, and screening.
  • Interpret data from complex experiments and document results according to company policies in electronic lab notebook.
  • Critically evaluate data and present results to key stakeholders, playing an active role in the subsequent scientific discussions leading to key decisions and program-enabling next steps.
  • Initiate investigations of new experimental approaches for specific questions or problems using scientific theory, data from internal/external partners, and technical literature.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in a scientific discipline, or MS with 6+ years experience, or BS with 8+ years experience
  • Industry experience is preferred, but not required
  • Hands-on experience with tumor and immune cell culture, including purification, expansion, characterization, activation/differentiation, and tumor killing.
  • Proficiency with common molecular and immunology experimental techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA/MSD, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and PCR.
  • Ability to maintain detailed records of experiments in electronic lab notebooks, and adhere to company policies regarding scientific integrity and data security.
  • Familiarity with common software for analysis and presentation of experimental data and results, such as Microsoft Office Suite, GraphPad Prism, etc.
  • Strong team player who thrives in a dynamic, 'biotech-like' environment.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

108,500.00 - 170,500.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
