About the role:

The Senior Research Associate of CMC Analytical Development will be empowered to develop, optimize, pre-qualify, and transfer analytical methods to advance Takeda’s portfolio. You will also execute routine experiments under limited supervision, plan basic experiments, and perform specialized/complex experiments with assistance from supervisor as appropriate. This role is a part of the Analytical Development team within Cell Therapy.

How you will contribute: 

  • Execute various test methods to support the process development activities of cell therapy drug substance and drug products (e.g. multi-color flow cytometry, ddPCR, ELISA and cell culture).

  • Perform experiments, independently and accurately analyze, summarize the results and present internally and cross-functionally.

  • Support assay development of molecular and cell-based assays to support various program needs.

  • Support qualification and technology transfer either internally or externally.

  • Track/trend assay performance through the life cycle of the analytical method.

  • Independently identifies, communicates, proposes solutions and/or resolves routine technical problems.

  • Maintain excellent documentation records electronic lab notebooks and study reports in timeline manner.

  • Assist with authoring, reviewing and editing experiment summaries and study reports.

  • Maintain and support safe lab practices and environment.

  • Proficient in the use of multiple applicable lab instruments or operations.

  • Contribute to operational roles within Analytical Development group.

  • Work and coordinates with departmental and cross functional peers to execute on project assignments with limited supervision.

  • Understands, identifies, and communicates more complex technical issues to supervisor or team members.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Masters or Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline with 2 years relevant industry experience. Relevant experience will be considered.

  • Appropriate laboratory training / previous experience working in lab setting or Master’s degree plus appropriate laboratory training .

  • Practical experience with typical analytical techniques (e.g. Cell culture, functional cellular assays, flow cytometry, MSD, etc.).

  • General familiarity with analytical theory and techniques. Able to work in a lab setting.

  • Analytical and Problem Solving Skills - Able to troubleshoot routine issues or problems using appropriate information.

  • Teamwork - Ability to work well within a group of functional teams.

  • Communication Skills - Ability to expresses one's self clearly and concisely within function; documents issues and/or concerns concisely; timely and effectively communicates issues to supervisor.

  • Organization – Exercises good time management skills.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

84,000.00 - 132,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
