About The Position

Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist for a locum tenens position at a Mental Health facility in Massachusetts. This 24-day assignment begins on 04/21/2025, with a flexible schedule of 5-10 hours per week, typically spread across two days. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing outpatient psychiatric cases for all ages, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and medication management. Responsibilities include conducting follow-up appointments, reviewing charts with a Nurse Practitioner, and providing comprehensive psychiatric care. There is also a chance for an extension with this role.Ā

Responsibilities and Duties:Ā 

• Provide outpatient psychiatric care for patients of all agesĀ 

• Manage various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and ADHDĀ 

• Conduct medication management for existing patientsĀ 

• Perform follow-up appointments lasting 15-30 minutes on averageĀ 

• Review charts and collaborate with a Nurse Practitioner for one hour per weekĀ 

• Utilize Insync electronic health record system for documentationĀ 

• Develop and adjust treatment plans as neededĀ 

• Collaborate with other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive patient careĀ 

• Adhere to all facility policies and proceduresĀ 

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric best practices and treatment guidelinesĀ 

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff membersĀ 

• Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with all relevant regulations


Requirements:Ā 

• Active Massachusetts state medical licenseĀ 

• Board certification in PsychiatryĀ 

• Experience in outpatient psychiatric care for diverse age groupsĀ 

• Proficiency in medication management and treatment of various mental health conditionsĀ 

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably InsyncĀ 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsĀ 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a teamĀ 

• Flexibility to adapt to a varying weekly schedule
