About The Position

Wellhart is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position at a Critical Access Hospital in Massachusetts. This 18-day assignment starts on 06/02/2025, with shifts typically running from 7a/8a to 7p/8p, to be determined once credentialed. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a non-designated trauma setting, performing procedures such as intubation, ventilation management, and placement of central lines. The physician will work alongside a true hospitalist team for admissions and discharges. This opportunity also offers a chance for extension and requires an active Massachusetts medical license.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide emergency medical care in a Critical Access Hospital setting 

• Perform critical procedures including intubation, ventilation management, and central line placement 

• Manage medium acuity patients and handle all lifesaving measures as needed 

• Collaborate with the hospitalist team for admissions and discharges 

• Adapt to a non-designated trauma environment 

• Utilize Athenahealth for medical documentation 

• Maintain a high standard of patient care in a fast-paced environment 

• Demonstrate proficiency in emergency medicine and critical care
