- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE (Job Description)
This position has responsibility for supervision of the warehouse operations.
- POSITION DEMANDS (Education/Training)
Typically has a BA/BS in a related field, or AA/AS plus two (2) years directly related experience, or six (6) years directly related experience.
- POSITION DEMANDS (Required Experience)
A. Knowledge of:
- In-depth knowledge of NASSCOs ship repair approach, organization, procedures and material requirements.
- Material requirements planning and procurement systems.
- Navy Material Scraping Material procedures and disposal of recyclable material.
- Damaged Material process and procedures.
- OSHA regulations regarding industrial lift equipment and safety training.
- NASSCO health, safety, and environmental policy.
- Skilled In:
- Supervising warehousing operations.
- Document preparation including special reports and presentations.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to think clearly under pressure of time deadlines.
- Recognition of group dynamics and application of techniques to achieve department and company objectives.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and military specifications is highly desirable.

- PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and schedules team activities.
- Evaluates team performance.
- Identifies problem areas and initiates corrective action.
- Adheres to schedule objectives, cost, quality, safety, and environmental.
- Enforces NASSCO policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Continually analyzes departmental processes for potential improvement.
- Ensures compliance with various regulatory agencies including Federal and state OSHA and others.
- Maintain trade staffing levels to satisfy shipyard production.
- Ensure OSHA-compliant and documented industrial lift equipment training occurs.
- Ensures appropriate forklift certification occurs for production trade personnel that require it to perform their job.
- Responsible for supervising material warehousing and the PTD function.
- Places safety as the number one priority in all activities.
- Provides counseling, guidance, and discipline to resolve departmental personnel issues.
- Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
- GOVERNEMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY/MATERIAL Must meet requirements above in addition to the below requirements, which apply to GFP/GFM
- Understand and follow governments requirements for property control
- Able to issue all GFP/CAP material using computer system
- Able to deliver material to various locations using appropriate government forms
- Able to setup GFP/CAP job folders for all GFP/CAP
- Able to research Spares inventory using computer system
- ACCOUNTABILITY
Reports to the Supply Chain Manager for all aspects of department administration and operation. Directly supervises Warehouse/Tool Room Associates, GFP Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator and Drivers. Responsible for assisting other departments to support their material requirements.
- UNIQUE/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have reliable record of attendance and punctuality and be available for overtime as required. Must have good eye/hand coordination. Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects or controls; and to talk and hear. Must have physical ability to walk to all warehouse/storeroom locations. Exposure to constantly moving machines and mechanical parts. High levels of constant noise and dust may be present depending on the location of the individual warehouse or storage site. Must be able to gain access to all work locations including government and private ship yards and/or vessels.
Pay Range: $65,200 - $85,575 Annually
The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity.
