This position is responsible for managing the daily maintenance of park rides and attractions, including mechanical and electrical. Additionally, this individual will ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and standards of quality and safety. The Ride Maintenance Director will ensure the maintenance division complies with all regulatory requirements, as well as supervises and reviews the work of subordinate maintenance management staff. Furthermore, this individual will perform related administration duties.
Salary Details: $130,000 – 160,000/yr. + bonus, based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Manage employee performance utilizing all appropriate means including training, coaching, counseling, and performance management. Address and fairly resolve employee problems within the framework of company policies.
- Assists in developing and maintaining ride maintenance budget; monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with budget allocations. Approves and processes purchase orders.
- Communicate with ride manufacturers to resolve difficulties and to ensure the safest possible operation and maintenance of rides. Communicate with Cedar Fair Safety and Engineering on all relevant ride related issues and to provide needed assistance.
- Interface with various governmental agencies on a routine basis to insure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Ensure employee safety by working within and enforcing all OSHA requirements and other applicable safety laws. Ensure rides, and equipment are installed and maintained in a safe, reliable and cost effective manner.
- Determine priorities for scheduling of preventive maintenance and yearly overhauls. Research, bid and oversee ordering of materials and/or services involved in maintenance and construction projects.
- Coordinates maintenance projects with other Park departments, contractors and ride manufacturers as necessary. Performs maintenance duty in Park as scheduled.
- Receives and reviews various records and reports including ride modification forms, purchase orders, price quotes, mechanical drawings, downtime reports, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, with a focus in Maintenance/Tech./Engineering preferred.
- NAARSO LEVEL II RIDE INSPECTOR and AIMS LEVEL II RIDE INSPECTOR certifications preferred.
- At least 10+ years of work related experience preferred.
- At least 5+ years of prior supervisory/leadership experience required.
- General Knowledge of engineering principles and biodynamics, understanding of ASTM and California DOSH regs related to amusement rides, extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance and codes.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
