Job Purpose

Honda Aero in Burlington, NC is in search for a member of a team whose role mission statement is to “Advance our ability to improve supply chain stability with a single and efficient mindset.” This contributes to maintaining strong delivery characteristics in support of smooth production operations ensuring customer satisfaction. 

Under limited supervision, responsible for leading Supplier Crisis mitigation and countermeasure for OEM Suppliers and supporting supplier Delivery performance, in addition to other duties not specified but required for production and/or other core business activities. Participates in broad scope projects and handles critical supplier situations.
 

Approach to job:
 

  • Collaborate with Suppliers and other Honda Business Unit leaders to achieve supplier stability
  • Review proposals with leadership for final direction setting
  • Minimize supplier touchpoints thru optimizing activity
  • Clearly summarize each supplier situation so issue, impact, root cause and CM are clearly escalated

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage and Direct situation appraisal and analysis of a supplier crisis on a specific part or assembly process
  • Manage and oversee implementation of immediate corrective action plan (short term and long term) at critical suppliers
  • Manage critical proactive projects (Capacity Management / LMPR / A-Rank NARS reporting, Shutdown, Etc.)
  • Support reporting activity for root cause analysis / countermeasure implementation to solve complex problems w/ attention to closure speed and effectiveness
  • Strive for continuous improvement through cycling Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) for area of responsibility (Capacity and/or Special projects) to ensure associate success

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Equivalent Related Experience
 

Minimum Experience

10+ years of relevant experience
 

Other Job-Specific Skills

Manufacturing Process Knowledge (stamping, welding, assembly, material flow, casting, machining, etc)

Working Conditions

  • Strong Sense of urgency and flexibility to respond to critical issues and unplanned risk events
  • Ability to travel at moment's notice to confirm supplier situation at the spot (up to 50%)
  • Ability to work in an open office environment, at a supplier's operations, or conduct business virtually where expectations are maintained.
  • Ability to work 1st,2nd, or 3rd shift in a limited basis to support on-site supplier crisis
  • Ability to work up to 5-15 hours OT each week as needed
